Notice of Inkster Housing Commission Public Hearing and Comment Period

Amendment to Fiscal Year 2022 Annual PHA Plan

 

The Inkster Housing Commission (IHC) is amending its 2022 Annual PHA Plan.   The IHC Housing Choice Voucher program plans to operate a Project Based Voucher (PBV) program in accordance with HUD regulations and IHC policies as defined in the HCV Administrative Plan, using 20% of its Budget Authority. Inkster Housing Commission intends to implement allowable PBV waivers to improve program efficiency, streamline administration and support expansion of affordable housing opportunities. Inkster Housing Commission will advertise for competitive PBV Request for Proposals (RFP) and, subject to IHC Board of Commissioners approval, to award PBV Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contracts to qualified developments that expand housing opportunities including permanent supportive housing and housing in high opportunity areas.  The Inkster Housing Commission is releasing the Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022 Annual PHA Plan for public review. 

 

IHC will accept written public comments regarding the Revised 2022 Annual PHA Plan beginning Friday, February 25, 2022, until 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2022.  The public is encouraged to submit their written comments to Inkster Housing Commission, 4500 Inkster Road, Inkster, MI 48141, Attn:  2022 Annual Plan Comment. You can also e-mail your comments to AnnualPlan@inksterhousing.org.

 

The draft of the proposed Significant Amendment as well as the 2022 Annual Plan will be available for review at 4500 Inkster Road, Inkster, MI 48141, and the City of Inkster City Hall, 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, MI 48141 beginning Friday, February 25, 2022. 

 

IHC will hold a Public Hearing to discuss the above referenced Annual PHA Plans on Friday April 15, 2022, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at 4500 Inkster Road, Inkster, MI 48141.  The general public is welcome to attend in person however the Inkster Housing Commission will limit capacity due to COVID-19. Masks will be required for all visitors. The general public, staff members, contractors or other interested parties may also attend the meeting remotely by following the link, optional phone numbers and meeting identification number required to join the meeting via ZOOM. The public is invited to present oral or written comments at the Public Hearing.  Electronic remote access, in accordance with provisions of Public Act 228 of 220.  The public may participate in the meeting by following the link, optional phone numbers and meeting identification number required to join the meeting via ZOOM.   Public comments will be welcomed.

When you enter the meeting, you will be placed in a waiting room until the host starts the meeting.   Members of the public will only be able to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting and such comment will be limited to three minutes per person.
