Housing Unit
The city is currently working to fill the position of the Housing Police Officer for the Inkster Housing Commission. As soon as the position is filled, we will update the website to reflect the changes.
Auxiliary Police
The Inkster Auxiliary Police unit is comprised of approximately 40 civilian volunteers who have completed 26 weeks of rigorous training in law enforcement, crime prevention, disaster response, firearms, and constitutional law. They have successfully passed a stringent background investigation and passed the Inkster Police Department's firearms qualification course. These officers volunteer their time to the Inkster Police Department and are required to work 24 hours per month. Auxiliary Officers are assigned to patrol, administration, crime prevention, training, firearms unit, and emergency management.
