Records Bureau

Records Bureau Division is staffed with clerks who are responsible for the filing of all reports that are written by the Inkster Police Department. This staff also provides assistance to citizen/customers for gun permit, fingerprints and freedom of information act requests. This unit is also responsible for the entry of crime statistics, sex offender registration, public vehicle license and felony and misdemeanor warrant entries.

Parking for the Records Bureau is on the street adjacent to the Police Parking lot. The Records Bureau is located on the S/E corner of the Police Department.

Hours of Operation

The Records Bureau is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:45am until 11:45am and then again from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. The Offices are closed from 12:00pm until 1:00pm for lunch. The Records Bureau is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and all holidays, except President's Day.

Gun Permits

Gun Permits are issued on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00pm until 3:30pm.

Dancer Permits

Dancer License Registrations are ONLY issued on Monday and Thursday from 10:00am until 11:45pm, then again from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.

Finger Printing

Finger printing is only done between the hours of 1:00pm and 3:30pm on all open days at the Records Bureau.

Sex Offender Registration

Sex Offenders Registration is available during the following days of the year: January 1-15, April. 1-15, July 1-15 and October 1-15.

New Move In from out of state must go to the nearest Michigan State Police Post to Register.

Paying Fees

All fees are paid in the Lobby at the Front Window. No personal checks or credit cards accepted. The above fees have been established by the Inkster City Council.
