The goals of the School
Resource Liaison/officer is to assist the schools with the prevention of
delinquent behavior, to improve the relationship between the youth of
the community and the Police Department, to act as a resource person for
both staff and students, to advise the school administrators in the
establishment of policy, rules and regulations, when requested, in areas
of mutual concern to the schools, and Police Department, to facilitate
the investigations of law violations, to enforce, state and local laws
and to attend after-school functions as schedule permit in order to
establish a positive atmosphere in and around the school complex.
The Officer will also provide preventative patrol within the school area
to reduce: loitering, vandalism, assaults, drug and alcohol traffic,
thefts and burglaries and other anti-social behavior. Officer C.
Howard Serves Blanchette Middle School where Daryl Love is the Principal
and Nick Edwards at Inkster High School.
