Records Bureau

The Records Bureau Division is staffed with personnel who are responsible for assisting the citizens/customers with gun permits, Freedom of Information Act requests, and police reports and fingerprints.

Parking for the Records Bureau is on the street adjacent to the Police Parking lot. The Records Bureau is located on the S/E corner of the Police Department.

Hours of Operation

The Records Bureau is open on Tuesday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Office will be closed from 1:00pm to 2:00pm for lunch. Office is closed all day Saturday, Sunday and all holidays.

Gun Permits

Gun Permits are issued on Tuesday only, from 9:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

Finger Printing

Finger printing done Tuesday only, from 9:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

Sex Offender Registration

Sex Offenders Registration is available during the following days of the year: January 1-15, April. 1-15, July 1-15 and October 1-15.

New Move In from out of state must go to the nearest Michigan State Police Post to Register.

Paying Fees

All fees, except vehicle releases, are paid in the Lobby at the Records Bureau. No personal checks or credit cards accepted. The above fees have been established by the Inkster City Council.
