Our Programs
Winter / Spring / Fall Activities
During the Winter/Spring months the Complex offers the following
programs:
Men's Basketball Leagues
All gents ages 18 and over from churches, industries, businesses or
made up of friends to participate in the Adult Mens Basketball League.
Organizational meetings begin in early January.
Elementary & Junior Basketball Leagues
These leagues begin in January. Youth from the area form teams,
and compete with other teams from surrounding areas.
After School Program
The After School Program is conducted during the months of
September through March at several schools in the City of Inkster, as
well as the Recreation Complex. Activities include: table
games, arts & crafts, field trips, instructional competitive team and
individual sports, such as flag football, floor hockey, volleyball,
basketball and track & field events.
Summer / Fall Activities
Swimming Pool Opening
The swimming pool opens . The pool
special is .50 cents for ages 17 and under, and $ 1.00 for ages 18 and
over.
Open swimming hours are 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Open swimming will be
conducted daily from through
.
Instructional Swim Program
The Instructional Swim Classes will be conducted from
throughout . There are classes for beginners,
intermediate and advanced students. Adults and children of all
ages are invited to participate in the program. The first session
begins the third week in June. Each session is four weeks.
The Instructional program season will consist of two sessions.
Qualified, certified staff are on duty at al times.

Other Instructional Programs
Free Instructional Golf Lessons The Golf Program is offered by Wayne Count Parks, Inkster
Recreation and Inkster Valley Golf Club. Lessons are for boys and
girls ages 8-17. All facets of golf are introduced Lessons,
clubs and green fees will be provided.
Lessons and practices will be held at Inkster Valley Golf Club and
Michigan Golf Center Driving Range. You must attend 4 lessons to
be eligible for golf play. Tournaments will be held at Belle Isle
Golf Course.

2007 Instructional Tennis Program
Tennis Racquets & Tennis Balls will be provided. The program
will be conducted at the Booker Dozier Recreation Complex. The
program offers instruction for beginners, intermediate and advanced.
All players will be evaluated and placed in groups with others of
similar abilities.

2007 Summer Playground Activity Program
The Summer Playground Activity Program is for boys and girls ages 5
- 16. The program will be held at the following locations:
Westwood Park
Demby Park
King Park
Dartmouth Park
Inkster Recreation Complex.
All youth participate in various table games, arts & crafts, field
trips, as well as the Metro Youth Fitness Meet. There is a trip to
Cedar Point at the end of the program.

Metro Youth Fitness Meet
This track and field meet will be held on at Lower
Huron Metro Park. Youth from surrounding areas compete in track
and field events. Individual awards are presented to the top three
finishers in each event. The John J. Considine Award is presented
to the city which best represents the ideals of sportsmanship,
conduct and appearance during the meet.
