Neighborhood Stabilization Program
The City of Inkster is proud to announce the receipt of $730,000 in
grant funding from Wayne County through the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development. These funds will be used to demolish blighted
structures (commercial, residential and a school) throughout the City.
Wayne County has also allocated NSP funds for housing rehabilitation
projects in the city. The homes will be renovated to the standard of the
existing neighborhood and the majority of the time even greater. A goal
of the program is to help maintain and grow the current housing values
and create a foundation of stability in our neighborhoods. The City
believes that NSP is a great opportunity for our community and must be
preformed in concert with developers, the City and residents to
accomplish a lasting effect on housing values in our neighborhoods and
the community as a whole. For more information, contact the Planning and
Economic Development Department at (313) 563-7709.
