Press Release: Park Improvement Program

Park Improvement Program
The City of
Inkster’s Department of Public Service (“DPS”) is interested in
receiving competitive proposals to improve several of its neighborhood
public parks in the Spring of 2009. The DPS has selected (1) Wheatley,
(2) Lemoyne, (3) King, (4) Demby, (5) Bel-Air, and the (6) Moore Tot Lot
for the first phase of the Park Improvement Program. The six
parks vary in size from approximately one to eight acres. The
expectation is to receive competitive proposals for design consultation,
acquisition, and installation of equipment to include, but not limited
to, the following:
Court King Basketball Units (Heavy
Duty-Galvanized)), Basketball Heavy Duty Steel Fan Backboard, Heavy Duty
Double Rim Goal with universal mount plate and nylon net, Baseball
Diamonds (including dugouts, backstops, and fencing as required), Home
Plate, Pitcher’s Rubber, Hooded Backstop, Spectator Bleachers (minimum 5
Row), Swing Sets, Play Pods, Slides, Picnic Tables, Galvanized Grills
for large groups with utility shelf, Trash receptacles with liners and
Dome Lids, Benches to match the trash receptacles, Park Signage, Walking
Track, Fencing/Gate Repairs and/or Replacement, Engineered Wood Fiber
Safety Surface (per cu yd). The equipment shall be ADA Compliant, where
applicable.
It is preferred to select one company to
provide the equipment indicated. The DPS reserves the opportunity to
select more than one company if it believes it is in the best interest
of the program. The successful company(s) will be based on equipment
prices, labor costs, delivery period and reliability, terms, the period
the prices will remain firm, company references, design consultation,
quality of service, and other associated direct or indirect costs.

the Park Improvement Program and schedule a tour of the sites. You may
deliver or mail your written proposal complete with illustrations to the
DPS office no later than
Friday, October 17, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.

not be accepted.
