Press Release: City of Inkster Sidewalk Repair Program
For Immediate Release
July 23, 2010
The City of Inkster is happy to announce assistance for sidewalk
repairs to Inkster residents. As a result of the Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Program, through Wayne County, we are able to offer grant assistance up
to $1,000 to residents who qualify for the program.
The goal of the Sidewalk Repair Program is to repair and replace
dangerous sidewalks to secure pedestrian safety throughout the city.
Efforts will focus on replacement of concrete which poses a threat to
public safety, such as poor concrete alignment, disintegrated surfaces,
holding water, etc. An application is required to determine eligibility.
Grant funding is limited and will be disbursed on a first come first
served basis with emphasis being placed on the areas of greatest need.
