Press Release: City of Inkster Primary Election

For Immediate Release
July 23, 2010

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF INKSTER, County of Wayne: You are hereby notified that a Primary election will be held in all voting precincts of this state on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at which time candidates of the Republican Party and Democratic Party seeking nomination of the following partisan offices are to be voted for: Governor, U.S. Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Representative and such other partisan office that may be law be required to be nominated at the Primary. Candidates seeking nomination to the following nonpartisan office are also to be voted for: Circuit Court Judge. Please be further notified that delegates to the Republican Party and Democratic party county conventions will be election at the August 3, 2010 Primary Election and the following proposal:

WAYNE COUNTY TRANSIT AUTHORITY MILLAGE RENEWAL: Shall the tax imposed on taxable property in the Wayne County Transit Authority are which expired with the 2009 tax, be levied for four (4) years, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, inclusive, at 0.50 mill (59 cents per $1,000 taxable value), for the purpose of making contributions in aid of the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) and its purpose of serving the elderly, handicapped and general public in the County of Wayne? It is estimated that 0.59 mill would raise approximately $12,158,000 when levied in 2010.

The polls for said election will be open at 7:00am and will remain open until 8:00pm on said day of election. Every qualified elector present and in line at the hour prescribed for the closing thereof shall be allowed to vote. Voting sites are ADA compliant.
