CITY OF INKSTER GENERAL ELECTION
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF
INKSTER, County of Wayne: Notice is hereby given that a General Election
will be held in the City of Inkster on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from
7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at which time the candidates of the Republican
Party, Democratic Party, Green Party, US Taxpayers Party, Libertarian
Party and Natural Law Party and candidates without political party
affiliation who seek election to the following partisan offices are to
be voted for in your county; Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State,
Attorney General, Representative in Congress, State Senator, State
Representative, State Board of Education, University of Michigan Regent,
Michigan State University Trustee, Wayne State University Governor,
Wayne County Executive, Wayne County Sheriff, Wayne County Commissioner
(12th District). Candidates seeking election to the following
nonpartisan offices are also to be voted for in your county at the
November 2, 2010 General Election: Supreme Court Justice, Appeals Court
Judge, Circuit Court Judge, Probate Court Judge, Probate District Court
Judge. You are hereby notified that the two statewide proposals, county
proposal and city proposal identified by law are qualified to appear on
Michigan’s November 2, 2010 General Election ballot:
PROPOSAL 10-1: A Proposal to convene a
Constitutional Convention for the purpose of drafting a General Revision
of the State Constitution.
PROPOSAL 10-2: A Proposal to amend the State
Constitution to prohibit certain felons from holding elective office and
specified types of public employment positions.
PROPOSITION P: Parks Millage Renewal
CITY OF INKSTER LIBRARY MILLAGE PROPOSAL:
Shall the tax limitation imposed on all
taxable real and tangible personal property within the City of Inkster,
Wayne County, Michigan, be increased for said City in an amount not to
exceed 2 mills ($2.00 on each $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of
ten (10) years, 2010 to 2019 inclusive, to provide funds for
establishing, operating, constructing and funding a public library in
the City of Inkster pursuant to Section 10a of PA 164 of 1877 and for
all other library purposes authorized by law; and shall the City levy
such new additional millage for said purposes. The estimate of the
revenue the City will collect if the millage is approved and levied in
the 2010 calendar year is approximately $667,000. The revenue from this
millage will be disbursed into a library fund that is under the
exclusive control of an independent public library board and may be
subject to capture by the City of Inkster Downtown Development
Authority, Tax Increment Finance Authority and the Brownfield
Redevelopment Authority.

7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on said day of election.
Every qualified elector present and in line at the hour prescribed for
the closing thereof shall be allowed to vote. Voting sites are ADA
compliant.
