Public Notice: 2009 Community Development Block Grant
Program Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2
The City of Inkster will join a Consortium, Western Wayne County
Consortium, to apply for funds under the federal Community Development
Block Grant/Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2, competitive funding
opportunity with the City of Westland serving as the lead agency. The
Consortium, consisting of Westland, Dearborn Heights, Garden City,
Inkster, Redford and River Rouge will request funding in the amount of
$13,250,000, to be divided among the participant communities. The
following details how the City proposes to utilize the Neighborhood
Stabilization Program grant:
Project:
Renovation/Reconstruction
- Identify foreclosed and abandoned vacant properties
- Work with non-profit and for-profit developers to develop
single-family homeownership housing.
- Allowable uses of funds: site preparation, construction,
appraisal, homebuyer assistance.
- 25% of program funds will benefit families at or below 50% of
area median income.
- Administration.

Submit written comments to the City of Inkster Planning and Economic
Development Department at 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, MI 48141, or via
email to
jfields@cityofinkster.com until July 17, 2009.
Comments will be responded to within fifteen days.
