Regular Council Meeting
June 6, 2011
The Regular Meeting of the Council of the City of Inkster, Wayne County,
Michigan, convened in the Council Chambers, 26215 Trowbridge, on Monday, May 16,
2011.
Prior to the regular council meeting a motion to go into closed session was
made by Canty, seconded by Owens at 7:16 p.m. to discuss pending litigation
Roll Call: Canty, Crump, Hendricks, Owens, Williams, Mayor Hampton
Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Williams, Seconded by Crump to return to open session at 7:42 p.m.
Call Meeting to Order
Mayor Hampton opened the regular meeting at 7:53 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance
City Council and the public in attendance pledged allegiance to the flag of
the United States of America.

Honorable Council Present: Michael Canty, Henry Crump, Marcus Hendricks,
Courtney Owens, Timothy Williams, Patrick Wimberly, Mayor Hilliard Hampton

Public Participation
Norma Wallace: Gave background of relationship with city.
Lillie Morris: Concerned with street flooding on Williams Street.
Michael Wells: Discussed library budget.
Willie Johnson: Suggested naming a street in memory of Don Barden
Karen Lee: Concerns included flood basement, unanswered inquiries, bridge on
Middlebelt Road, pump station (accompanied by neighbors).
Lorenzo Moner: Announced child identification program.
Ms. Gratewood: Requested block closure for graduation party.
Shanea Jones: Thanked council for the use of Wheatley Park.
Sandra Watley: Provided information on concrete work permit in question.
Jessie Shelby: Thanked Councilman Crump for service, congratulated Inkster
graduates. concerned with water bill format.
Dennard Shaw: Questions regarding RFP and flag in front of city hall.
Dorothy Gardner: Discussed senior cooling center, communication problems,
water on Middlebelt Road and Christmas lights.
Aaron Sims: Questions Livernois billing for vehicle repair.

Council Concerns
Wimberly: Mentioned dust from H & H Metal on Michigan Avenue.
Williams: Discussed website, water running on Middlebelt Road and sub pump.
Crump: Discussed memorial parade, Siemen’s vote and sealed bid for vacant
homes. Announced day of prayer.
Hendricks: Remarked on grass cutting and rental property program.
Owens: Discussed vacant homes, grass cutting, and confidential information
released to public.
Mayor: Discussed police patrol at Memorial Day Parade, stage location, cement
company. Announced Summer Jazz Fest and veterans honored as 1st, 2nd and 3rd
place winners of the Memorial Day Parade.
City Clerk
City Manager
Announced Police auction, memorial day parade and a $200,000 grant approved
in Lansing regarding Mark Lloyd, Economic Development Director.
There being no further business to come before Council, on motion duly made
by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Crump and carried, the Regular
Council Meeting of June 6, 2011 was adjourned at 10:25 PM.
