The Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Inkster, Wayne County, Michigan, convened in the Council Chambers, 26215 Trowbridge, on Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Call Meeting to Order

Mayor Hampton called the meeting to order at 6:14 p.m.

Roll Call

Honorable Council Present: Henry Crump, Marcus Hendricks, Courtney Owens, Timothy Williams, Patrick Wimberly, Mayor Hilliard Hampton

Honorable Council Not Present: Michael Canty

Mayor conceded meeting to Peter Dobrzeniecki, Treasurer/Controller initiated discussion; stated current strategy:

Negotiation with AFSCME, eliminating floating days off and implementing furlough days, utilizing employees for landscaping services, capital improvement plan.

Police

Warrant awareness, JAG grant, deputy positions, internal police disciplinary procedures, use of alternate incarceration devices/locations and payment procedures, auxiliary officers building, use of auxiliary funds allocated strategy to eliminate police officers layoff

22nd District Court

Community service, maintaining and realignment of court personnel, court caseload, court officers and collection rate goals to assist with revenue.

Fire Department

Deputy position, donations, grants, executive secretary position, work distribution, ambulance revenue,

Council requested:

An outlined list of salaries and position

Repair of Auxiliary Building parking lot and woman’s restroom

Discussion of Human Resource Director salary and Risk Manager vehicle.

Reevaluate fire revenues in six months.

Itemized budget information.

There being no further business to come before Council, on motion duly made by Councilman Crump, seconded by Councilman Hendricks and carried, the Special Council Meeting of May 3, 2011 was adjourned at 10:43 PM.
