Questions Addressed by City Council
City of Inkster, Michigan
Regular Council Meeting
October 6, 2008
- Has the issue regarding City Council members receiving city
cellular phones been resolved?
The vote to supply City Council members with cellular phones failed.
Therefore, this issue is resolved.
- Is it necessary for citizens to come to City Council meetings
when they need assistance with an issue?
When a citizen has an issue that they need City assistance with,
then the citizen is to contact that relative department (i.e. If you
had an issue with high weeds at the residence next door to you, then
you would contact Code Enforcement. If you had an issue with street
sweeping, then you would contact the Department of Public Service.)
Another way to report a problem is through the Assistance Center.

- What is the funding that was previously in the sidewalk repair
program currently being used to fund?
Per council resolution, these funds were transferred to Demolition
then used to demolish properties scheduled for demolition.
- How is funding that is available for residential assistance made
known to the public?
Notices are published in newspapers and put up around the community,
public hearings and the information is available on the Wayne County
website.
