Election Commission MinutesCity of Inkster, Michigan
Chairman Patrick Wimberly called the Election Commission Meeting of September 15, 2008 to order at 11:10 p.m. The City Council members met as the Election Commission as prescribed in Chapter 4, Section 6 of the City of Inkster Charter. Present on Roll Call: Chairman Patrick Wimberly. Commissioners Michael Canty, Michael Greene, Hilliard L. Hampton II, Marcus Hendricks, Courtney Owens, Timothy Williams NEW BUSINESS08-09-248 E RESOLVED by Greene, seconded by Owens to authorize the City Clerk to conduct a General Election on November 4, 2008. MOTION CARRIED. Unanimously adopted. 08-09-249 E RESOLVED by Williams, seconded by Canty to authorize funds to conduct a General Election, November 4, 2008 in an amount not to exceed $23,000. MOTION CARRIED. Unanimously adopted. 08-09-250 E RESOLVED by Owens, seconded by Hendricks to authorize the City Clerk to hire/request additional staff and election workers to assist with the November 4th election. MOTION CARRIED. Unanimously adopted. 08-09-251 E RESOLVED by Williams, seconded by Hendricks to authorize the City Clerk to utilize a receiving board and two absentee voter boards for the November 4, 2008 General Election. MOTION CARRIED. Unanimously adopted. There being no further business to come before the Election Commission, on motion duly made by Hendricks, seconded by Canty, the Election Commission meeting of September 15, 2008 was adjourned at 11:27 p.m.
