Regular Council Meeting
August 25, 2008

CALL MEETING TO ORDER

The Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Inkster, Wayne County, Michigan, assembled in Council Chambers, 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, MI 48141 at 6:00 pm

ROLL CALL

Honorable Council Present: Canty, Hendricks, Williams, Mayor Hampton

Honorable Council Not Present: Greene, Owens, Wimberly

In attendance: Joyce A. Parker, City Manager, Bill Richards, MML

Discussion arose from Councilman Greene’s concern regarding meeting posting procedure, format and legality. Mr. Richards explained the timing of when the meeting is posted is more crucial than the format; hence the meeting is legal.

Mr. Richards presented Council with packets containing information regarding the 24 applicants for the City Manager position. Candidates were not discussed so as not to violate confidentiality. Desired qualifications, reimbursement of mileage, not to exceed $500.00, and length of interview was discussed

Selection process followed candidates packet:

Packet #1 = G, Q, V

Packet #2 = C, S

Packet #3 = U

Packet #4 = J

Interviews will be conducted on September 13 beginning at 9:00 am. Council should arrive at 8:30 am to discuss business of the day. Interview time will be 1.25 hours.

Mr. Richards will meet with absent council members on another date prior to September 13.

There being no further business to come before Council, on motion duly made by Hendricks, seconded by Canty and carried, the Special Council Meeting of August 25, 2008 is adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
