CALL MEETING TO ORDER The Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Inkster, Wayne County, Michigan, assembled in Council Chambers, 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, MI 48141 at 6:00 pm ROLL CALLHonorable Council Present: Canty, Greene (arrived at 6:15), Owens (arrived at 6:21), Hendricks, Williams, Wimberly (arrived at 6:08), Mayor Hampton Bill Richards of Michigan Municipal League in attendance. Prior to discussion regarding qualification requirements for the potential City Manager candidate Council addressed requests permitted with full compliment. 08-07-184 S RESOLVED by Canty, seconded by Hendricks to waive the vendor fee allowing Karmanos Cancer Institute to survey females attending the Summer Jazz Fest. Unanimously adopted. MOTION CARRIED Ms. Sharon Greer introduced herself as a 3rd Circuit Court Judge Candidate. Discussion continued: Council reviewed the check list for conditions of employment. 08-07-185 S RESOLVED by Hendricks, seconded by Canty to direct Michigan Municipal League representative to formulate language for city manager position advertisement and allow Joyce A. Parker, current City Manager to review. Mr. Richards will return on August 25. Legal questions for interviewing will be provided and is willing to ask the questions. Candidates will be scheduled 1.25 to 1.5 hours each. Six candidates will be selected. Mayor Hampton excused himself from meeting at 7:48.
There being no further business to come before Council, on motion duly made by Hendricks, seconded by Canty and carried, the Special Council Meeting of July 9, 2008 is adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
