Regular Council Meeting
June 25, 2008

CALL MEETING TO ORDER

The Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Inkster, Wayne County, Michigan, assembled in Council Chambers, 26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, MI 48141 at 6:12 pm

ROLL CALL

Honorable Council Present: Canty, Greene, Owens, Hendricks, Williams, Wimberly, Mayor Hampton

Councilman Greene expressed concerns

1. Regarding City Manager’s resignation and requested Michigan Municipal League search for replacement.

2. Clerk’s evaluation. All Department Heads have evaluation in process.

3. Would Ron Wolkowicz, Parks and Recreation Director, fill in if replacement is not found.

4. Are there other foreseen/unforeseen departures?

Mayor stated Council should officially accept City Manager’s resignation. Requested City Manager to add to process and would recommend Ron Wolkowicz as fill in.

Council discussed procedure, avenues, time frame, extending City Manager’s resignation, Treasurer's resignation, City Manager’s severance packet and City Clerk’s evaluation to be held at next meeting in closed session.

08-06-163 S RESOLVED by Williams, seconded by Greene to accept the City Manager’s resignation effective August 15, 2008. MOTION CARRIED. Unanimously adopted.

08-06-164 S RESOLVED by Hendricks, seconded by Greene to instruct the City Manager to contact Michigan Municipal League and arrange for Facilitator to meet with Council and begin the recruitment process for City Manager. MOTION CARRIED. Unanimously adopted.

There being no further business to come before Council, on motion duly made by Wimberly, seconded by Owens and carried, the Special Council Meeting of April 28, 2008 is adjourned at 10:19 p.m.
