Primary Election - August 2, 2011

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF INKSTER, County of Wayne: Notice is hereby given that a Primary Election will be held in the City of Inkster on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 7:00am until 8:00pm at which time the candidates who seek election to the following non-partisan offices are to be voted for in your city: Mayor and Councilpersons for District II and VI and one city wide proposal, identified by law, is qualified to appear on the August 2, 2011 ballot:

City of Inkster Millage Proposal

Shall the City of Inkster, Wayne County, Michigan (the “City”), borrow the principal sum of not to exceed Twenty Million Dollars ($20,000,000), and issue its Primary obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor in one or more series, payable in not to exceed twenty-five (25) years from date of issue of each series, for the purpose of providing funds to the City to pay all or part of the cost of the acquisition, construction, equipping and installation of improvements and extensions to the combined sewer overflow separation system in the City, including the sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems in the City? The estimated millage to be levied in 2012 is 1.42 mills ($1.42 per $1,000 of taxable value) and the estimated simple average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds is 3.27 mills ($3.27 per $1,000 of taxable value).

THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST OF SAID PRIMARY OBLIGATION UNLIMITED TAX BONDS SHALL BE PAYABLE FROM AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAXES WHICH THE CITY IS AUTHORIZED TO LEVY WITHOUT LIMITATION AS TO RATE OR AMOUNT.

The polls for said election will be open at 7:00am and will remain open until 8:00pm on said day of election. Every qualified elector present and in line at the hour prescribed for the closing thereof shall be allowed to vote. Voting sites are ADA compliant.
