One of the first round libraries, the Leanna Hicks Public Library was
dedicated September 24, 1960 by New York Governor Nelson
Rockefeller (future 41st Vice-President of the United States).
Located on a hill overlooking a forest and river, its floor-to-ceiling
glass walls are just one of the reasons why architect Kael Nelson
considered this beautiful building his greatest work.
The library serves our city’s citizens in their informational,
cultural, educational and recreational pursuits. Library cards are
available for Inkster residents and non residents may obtain a card if
they work or attend school in Inkster. Library services include
on-line library catalog, interlibrary loan, and internet access.
The library also offers adult and children’s programming.
