2009 Summer Jazz Fest

2009 Jazz Fest Volunteer Information

Good People Make a Good Community. While many aspects contribute to the making of a desirable community, ultimately it is citizen input and commitment which makes the difference. This is where you and/or your organization can help contribute toward promoting Inkster as a vibrant community on the move.

The City of Inkster, Inkster Downtown Development Authority and Summerfest Committee have combined resources and talents to expand the scope of their events to form a two day street festival in Inkster July 11 - 12, 2009. The "Inkster Summer Jazz Fest" is planned to span Inkster Road from Colonial Park to Michigan Avenue featuring live entertainment, food vendors, games, pony rides and much more. Inkster’s service clubs, organizations and individuals are well known to reflect that spirit of community and support.

Due to the size of this event, we realize that we cannot do it alone. There is a need and you can make the difference! Volunteers will be needed in various capacities throughout the weekend. We are hoping you and/or your organization will give consideration to assist in that capacity by committing to blocks of time during the weekend festival. Saturday’s entertainment will include Jazz while Sunday will consist of Gospel.

Won’t you consider helping us to put Inkster’s best foot forward, as we show residents and visitors alike, the true spirit of community. All volunteers are asked to complete a Volunteers Interest Form and return it to the following no later than July 1st @ 5:00 pm:

Ron Wolkowicz, Director
Parks and Recreation
City of Inkster
26215 Trowbridge Ave.
Inkster, MI 48141

Forms may also be faxed to (734)728-3310.

For more information, call (734)728-7530 or email Ron @ rwolkowicz@cityofinkster.com.
