MDOT Michigan Avenue Conceptual Corridor Study

The US-12 (Michigan Avenue) Conceptual Corridor Study was undertaken by T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) to develop improvements through this corridor in the City of Inkster (See Figure 1 for project area).  The main objective of the study is to analyze improvement alternatives for the corridor that will provide sufficient capacity, while considering non-motorized activities and streetscape improvements.  This report summarizes the planning process conducted, existing and proposed land use through the City of Inkster, existing and future traffic analysis on Michigan Avenue, improvement alternatives developed on nonmotorized (pedestrian and bicycle) and streetscaping opportunities for the corridor.  This study will form
the basis for planning future transportation improvements on Michigan Avenue through the City of Inkster.
