The City of Inkster is installing new water meters for all residents. By now, you should have received a letter with instructions on how to schedule your appointment.

Don’t wait! Call 1-800-315-4305 today to set up your installation.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. First Notice: You receive an initial letter with scheduling instructions.

  2. Second Notice: A follow-up reminder letter is sent.

  3. Final Notice: If needed, a notice will be placed on your front door.

⚠️ Important: If you do not respond after the third notice, your water service will be shut off until the installation is completed — and we don’t want that to happen!

To ensure a smooth appointment:

  • Make sure your indoor water shut-off valve is working properly.

  • Secure all pets during the installation.

  • Keep a clear path to your existing water meter.

This essential upgrade will allow for:

  • Remote meter reading

  • Leak detection alerts

  • More efficient water usage tracking
