Henry Ruff Bridge Repair Project

Project Description
The City of Westland has entered into a contract with Nashville Construction Company to repair the Henry Ruff Bridge over the Lower River Rouge. The project is funded in large part through Federal Highway Association (FHWA) and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The south abutment and approach were damaged by the high water flows resulting from the August 11, 2014 storm event.

Road Closure

In order for the contractor to safely install permanent repairs to the south approach a full road closure is required. Local access will be maintained to properties on either side of the bridge but through traffic on Henry Ruff will be detoured via Palmer to Merriman and Michigan Ave. The detour route will be marked, see reverse for details:
  • Road Closure: Henry Ruff Road between Palmer Rd and Michigan Ave.
  • Scheduled Monday Oct 12, 2015 thru Monday Nov 30, 2015
